The E540d drops into the top of an island counter rather than a front cutout. The hooded version has a double-walled 90-degree hood, analog thermometer and halogen lights; the no-hood version is an open, interactive cooking surface with a black glass accent panel and 304 stainless tube burners. Both share the same 30" x 18" cooking area and cutout.
